About

Before I ramble, please note this is a personal technology blog and bio, not a commercial enterprise. Slingshot Moon is not to promote, buy, or sell products or services of any type.

I’m Ali Harris, creator of the Slingshot Moon. This site tells a little about me and a lot about what I do.

Over the past decade and a half of work in the information technology area, I’ve developed a focus in web-based solutions and hosting infrastructures of various scale. My time is split between strategy sessions with clients and actual design and implementation of websites, web applications, and their underlying systems.

The name, Slingshot Moon, was inspired by my lifelong fascination with the Space Race and NASA missions of the late 50’s to early 70’s. “Semper Exploro” reflects my embracement of progress and experimentation, both necessary traits in my particular field.

More about me is available on my bio page and LinkedIn profile.

I’d like to take a moment to share with you a few of my favorite causes and hope you’ll join me in supporting them with a donation.

Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. We are all connected and interdependent. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, when people are healthy. United Way’s goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of these problems. Headquartered in New York City, UNICEF provides long-term humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries. It is one of the members of the United Nations Development Group and its Executive Committee. It is estimated that 91.8% of their revenue is distributed to Program Services. (Wikipedia, 2012)
